I'm in Toronto (landed at the Scarborough office) and it took roughly 1 month to get the paper with the date for landing on it which was 1 month after I received the paper. So, 2 months total after I got my approval. Hope that helps. =)
Sorry to confuse you. =) I wasn't actually replying to your situation, I was just updating the thread I started with regards to what happens after I had AIP/DM. =)
Does anyone know if you'd be denied coverage for something that came up during your 3 month wait? Like if you got pregnant a month before your OHIP kicked in. Would they deny coverage for the pregnancy as a 'pre-existing condition'?
Landed this morning. Fast and easy. Nothing to worry about. =)
In fact, I was the first one called so most of the time was spent as the IO went over the CoPR with the group so each person could make sure it was correct. (she did this as a group and then had people with errors let her/them know)
Just an update.
Got the letter inviting me for an interview for landing purposes last week. Interview is scheduled for the first week in December. Hooray! =)
Thanks, I wasn't sure of the terminology they'd be using so I wasn't sure how far along it all was. I'd heard horror stories of it taking a year+ so I figured 5 months was good for AIP or first stage approval. Now I think it's a GREAT turn-around time for final decision. =)
The date they started processing was May 15, 2008. Got the approval on October 15, 2008.
We mailed the papers April 16, 2008 - if that helps.
I'm not sure how that jibes with the posted Vegreville information, though. =)
Is there any way of figuring out how long it will take for the next step? I can't seem to find anything beyond the first stage approval on any website. Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places? I've also not seen anything listed about a Scarborough office. Is that just my poor search...
OK, so we received our approval papers and were told that we would be contacted by the Scarborough office to set up an appointment.
So now what? Any ideas on how long it will take and what they'll want?
It took exactly 5 months to process at Vegreville, if that matters.
