I was afraid of this possibility, so I scanned and emailed the CSQ to the CIC the day after we received it. Still no acknowledgement from CIC that they have it in the file, they did acknowledge my previous email of a scanned receipt for PPR... can't remember how long it took them to reply last...

16 months for LA? :o Is that total time elapsed from time of application, or 16 months from the time of approval? Very bad news...

We received our CSQ on 4/23/13... hoping that the rest of the process through the Los Angeles VO goes quickly! :P

Good news, got my letter from CIC dated 1/21/13 that I am approved to sponsor my common law partner. :D Now this weekend I have to prepare all the documents to submit to Quebec for the certificate of selection. On to step 2!

Thanks for the reassurance, Sweden. I am not sure about the visa office - we are closest to Los Angeles, geographically, but in other comments I see mentions of Ottawa processing all US applications? So not sure.

I mailed our outland application on Dec. 20th to CIC and checked on the US postal registration tracking page and see they received it Dec. 27th. However, I still have no response of any kind (email or snail mail) acknowledging receipt, so no idea there. I am really hoping they do not send the...
