No, it's not! It's only necessary if they apply as a family (one as principal and the other as dependant spouse). It's totally fine to apply as two separate packages.

Hi guys, For those who submitted the sponsorship form to sponsor more than one family (divorced parents, parents and grand parents, etc.), how many Confirmation number do you receive?

Why is that necessary? They don't need to be married as long as they are the parents of the people who sponsored them.
