Thank you nkalra. so the immigration officer at the POE accepts the bank statement as POF? do you know if there is any particular requirement for bank statement? I mean does it has to be on bank's letterhead/ stamped etc or a print out will be sufficient?

Need one more advise. should I even do this? Anything wrong in doing this? I mean transferring money to an account in a country where I have not even landed yet. Is it advisable. Has anybody done this before?

Its probably best. You can go first, arrange a house for your family. get the job, if not the right one, anyone to survive and then call the family, if your visa expiry allows this. In my case, I've got only 2.5 half months time after getting the passports back so can't do this arrangement.
