There is nothing negative about interview.They usually just want to clarify few things that they might not be sure off.Good part of the interview most of the time they tell you on spot if they are approving your file or not.

Received my notes today Eligibility under process Medical passed(Expired) Criminality not started security not started Already approaching 16 months which was the initial processing time when we applied.

i believe you should be able to do this through case specific inquiry.

You can link your application to your CIC account to see your file status.But if you have hired a lawyer then you would have to remove him in order to link your file.Once you link your file all communication with visa office will be through this account like medical request or passport request etc.
