Can I leave Canada immediately after the oath ceremony?

Hi, I'm a resident of the United States at the moment and I'm able to apply for Canadian passport from the US. Does this mean that I can leave Canada immediately after the oath ceremony and download the citizenship certificate from the US? Or will I need it to leave Canada / enter the US? Anyone...

How long is it taking e-certificate to be available for download these days?

Just wanted to check because the last thread on this subject is from Sep and processing times have seen marked improvement in recent months so I'm curious to know if it also improved e-cert times. A few months ago people reported that their e-certificate took weeks.

Sadly, I have travel planned for the holidays which means I'll have to ask to postpone. Sucks that I waited so long but can't make it.

I certainly don't see it overflowing as a 2022 applicant. There may be a small number of cases, sure, but don't set the wrong expectations for others. The current processing average is 17 months.

Anyone can BS here. It's extremely rare to go from test complete to oath ceremony in a month and somehow the one guy who happened to ask about his chances got it all sorted the same day he posted? Don't bother comparing because if he's genuine, that's a one in a million chance.

ha, sure you did. Call me a cynic but I find that hard to believe based on what I saw in these forums. If you really did, coincidentally the day you posted, good for you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    e-certificate after oath ceremony

How long does it take to get e-certificate after oath ceremony? Can I use the e-certificate to apply for urgent processing of Canadian passport at the passport office showing travel proof? I'm waiting for oath ceremony in the next couple of months...if I'm lucky (AOR Oct 2022, test completed...

Glad you're all good now Melvan. It's nice of you to share your mistake. You're probably not alone in this. I;ve thanked my lucky stars for keeping me entirely in Canada during Covid because can you imagine the number of trips and minute calculations we'd have had to do otherwise? :D

    Citizenship ceremony

When they say average, 80% of applications are completed in that time. Yours could be faster but 4-6 months after test is a good bet. I've seen someone in this forum postpone their oath from Oct 20222 to Mar 2023 so a few months may be acceptable?

2,3 times a week border crossing to US

I did not have a valid i94 when I entered US the first time last year through land with a new H1B (stamped visa). I got my first i94 date marked on that visit. I had to make a few trips subsequently between US and Canada, and each time my most recent entry date was registered as the "Most recent...

2,3 times a week border crossing to US

Is 797B H1B? I was on H1B last year and the "Most Recent i-94" record on DHS website shows my most recent entry date into the US and the Travel History tab shows my every entry/exit to and from the US, including the latest dates. I didn't get a paper i94 card.

2,3 times a week border crossing to US

I don't think it's random at all. You are issued a new i94 every time you enter/exit the country. I crossed the border 4 times last year, once by air and three times by land and the dates were logged to my i94 history each time. They're also no longer issuing paper i94 cards. You'll see your...
