    LMIA processing time - Alberta

And sorry Butterflychemist - was yours dual intent? Or for TFW only? I spoke to ESDC Today, and they indicated that if you had to do a compliance review, they are currently working on the compliance reviews received on Feb 24, 2015 still. And that they contradicted by saying that 8 weeks from...

Hi - question, does it make a difference in processing time for a TFW LMIA vs and EE LMIA or EE Dual Intent LMIA? I have been delayed for months on my own company's LMIA and I am not sure what the hold up is.

Although you don't pay tax on your world income, that is income earned outside of Canada while not being a resident of Canada, you should be reporting your world income in Canada in order to satisfy the 90% rule. So the short answer is no you won't be taxed on income earned from outside of...

Claiming CCTB by Non-resident (past visitor) mom for a Canadian child?

Well fraudulently they could I guess, if the school doesn't do their due diligence and check if the parents have status. But that again could be construed as fraud. If the parents do not have status, the children wouldn't either, so they can't attend school.

You aren't eligible. Only resident children are eligible for CTB and UCCB. Read above - TORONTOSM is bang on.

Why I received another T4 if I was outside Canada

You should be filing it with your 2014 Income tax return filing! Otherwise CRA will adjust your return to include it. And doing so they may charge penalties and interest. So it is best to include it! The amount in Box 14 on the T4 they issued would represent your last paycheck. Cheers.

    Spouse considered non-resident? Pls help.

Yes it is proof - so the best thing to do is wait until the return is assessed and then file what is called a T1ADJ and correct the return. If you file now it may cause issues while they are assessing the already filed return.

    Tax refund

Hello - well you can do one of two things, actually three. You can pick up software and file the tax return as a non resident, or you can do the non resident return by hand, or finally you can find a Tax Preparer that will file the return remotely with CRA. My firm does this, but there may be...

    Spouse considered non-resident? Pls help.

Hey no problem. Since it is your first return in Canada, it needs to go to the international tax center in Ottawa. But like I said, you are probably better off first having the efiler verify online through represent a client to see if it is marked as received. If it is, then wait for the...

    Spouse considered non-resident? Pls help.

Hi Kamae, Yes if it was your first time filing it's highly unlikely that it was received through efile, by the International Taxation Centre (Ottawa Tax Centre). But you won't want to just include a letter. Here is the thing, the taxation centre will not even consider any additional...
