    November 2011 application status

    It's normal for the application to be processed for a few months before you hear anything back from CIC. Just be patient, you'll either receive your File Number via mail or e-mail. Just keep checking back and once you get it, you should be fine.

    The process for you, since your in Toronto is to mail it to the address that was asked using Canada Xpresspost. They will ask you to include another pre-paid Canada Xpresspost envelope so that they can return your passport to you as well.

    My application was received on Jan 24th, 2011. I just got back my passport for confirmation of permanent residence. It took a little bit over a year, I'm sure you guys will be receiving yours very soon. Have faith!

    Work experience in a contract position

    Contract or no contract, as long as your working in your field (for which you went to school for) and met the hour requirements, such as 37.5 hours a week or 1950 hours of full time work, then you should be fine.

    Thanks for the reply Jes. One of my buddies applied in Dec and he mentioned that he got his AOR in April, so I thought by me applying in Jan I would get mines by now.. but nothing. I hate this waiting game lol.. going to post an update once I receive in anything :)
