Yeah I read/heard something about Brazilian citizens no longer needing a visit visa, i haven't followed up on it though because my husband is only a Brazilian resident and not a citizen (he's not Brazilian)

No you still need a valid visit visa, it says so right in the link you provided

MP's do not have any impact and cannot speed up processing times, they can only inquire on your behalf, like give you updates basically but even that is very vague. A pregnancy also does not speed up processing times only adds weight to your relationship being genuine.
