Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Where did you ship your things to? 2 grand for all that seems like a good deal. I got quoted 2 grand for about 2 kimchi size fridges from the same company.

When shipping your things back home by ship, did you guys label the boxes in any special ways? Or did you just put "used ______". I'm planning to go back in March but I want to start shipping soon. Also, any thing I should worry about when putting down the value of the goods?

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Hi Marticus, my situation is almost the same as yours, lived in Korea for about 5 and married for about 3.5 years. I would recommend, and I'm sure the other guys on this forum would recommend to start the process here. It's a lot faster than doing it inland. A couple people have done that and...

I think you can just do those ones yourself. Only the ones that they specifically require to be translated and notarized should. Otherwise it could get pricey. Maybe someone else can confirm...

Hey Sejong congrats. Welcome to the waiting club. Mississauga is processing really fast these days. I think many people in October are getting their SA's in about 2 weeks.

I think the SA is the easiest step. Seems like they are getting things done fast in Mississauga. The next step is where it seems to test your patience. It looks like an average of 5 to 6 months for the PPR. I hope they would do things faster in Manila.

That would be nice. And if we change our address to a Canadian they would send it to to Canada?

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I came to this forum later than most of you guys. Just wanted to get this right because we will most likely be going to Canada before the whole process is done as well. When the Passport request comes, my wife doesn't need to send her passport to Manila? What happens instead? It seems that...

I haven't been insured in Canada for about 3 years now but luckily when I asked for a quote back home the price was still reasonable and they didn't say anything about not having a driving record for a while. Good luck with the car hunting CanNZ. hows ur wife getting used to life back there?

Have you tried like Chrislyn said and use the principal applicants name instead of the sponsors name? I couldn't log in for a long time because I was using my name (I'm the sponsor) instead of my wifes name.

Thanks Chrislyn. I finally was able to log in. I have been using my information (I'm the sponsor) instead of my wife's information. What does your status have? I just have : We received your application for permanent residence on October 3, 2013. Medical results have been received. Glad I...

Great to hear you guys are getting settled in. I remember to get a drivers license you have to show proof of residency, like a bank statement or anything that shows an address. Keep us posted. There will be a couple of us eventually having to go through the same things in a couple months too...

In my case I didn't get any notification that they received it. The only way I knew was from the tracking when someone signed for it. I didn't hear anything from them and then 14 days later I got the Sponsorship Approval.

Still cant access my application on Ecas but at least I got the SA letter so I think I can assume everything should be moving along. I think we will be on the same time schedule it looks like.

Someone had mentioned it sometimes takes 3 weeks after your SA. I thought it was just me because on the letter is says I can check my status. Now we are in the waiting game.

Ya, best of luck to you and your wife. I'd be going crazy if I was in that situation. Hopefully everything works out.
