I am from Hamilton too, got test done on Feb 20 was told "2-5 weeks wait time for oath"... if January applicants haven't got oath letters yet that means mine is far away...

You answering your own question farrous, it is absolutely undoubtedly illegal to carry passport of the country who require you to surrender once you become citizen of other country.

So desi Jatt you apply for surrender certificate when you renounce Indian citizenship or you apply before renouncing India citizenship that's something, I mean can I request surrender certificate when I am sending my passport and other paper work or do I have apply surrender certificate first...

Thanks desi jatt and swindsor for thorough response, so that means I don't have to cancel my visitors visa which is valid until 2021. I am waiting for oath and after that need to surrender my Indian passport (wish India allowed dual citizenship). I still wonder if my record in States would pop...

Well I have Indian passport with US visa I travel to States quite often, I am pretty sure I have to get my visa cancelled before I surrender my Indian passport to Indian authority as you can't have travel visa while having Canadian passport. I guess CBP would have answer on this.
