    Paying for university?

^ Precisely. We have more than enough for everything else for a year or so to "survive" in Canada with or without a steady job (though of course the principal applicant intends to get one). But as anyone would know, university fees are different and tend to get very pricey. That's why I asked in...

    Paying for university?

As a newly-landed permanent resident in Canada, what would our possible options be with regards to funding for post-secondary education (university)? Will we be eligible for a student loan from the government, or do we approach a private lending institution/bank...? What have your experiences...

Proof of funds for Visa Office

^ Hi jtob, is it completely certain that property is considered as part of the applicants' POF and/or SF when the application is processed in Manila? I was always unsure about this so any additional info and whatnot will be much appreciated. Please let us know here, thanks! :)

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

Correct. May it arrive soon! But on that note, hindi ba "bad sign" (?) daw yung biglang mapapalitan ang status natin to "Medicals received" tapos "Decision made?" I may have misunderstood but it seems like, based on the posts of jtob and arexie above, it's better than our E-CAS status changes...

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

CPA2CANADA, I just noticed that we have a very similar time line. Our medicals were sent Oct 2. Let's keep each other posted. Here's to receiving our PPRs soon, God be willing! :)

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

Thank you arexie. I guess I can breathe a little sigh of relief for now, reading your post as well as jtob's. It would then appear that our E-CAS is currently normal/positive. I was a bit worried not seeing a "Medicals received" update because supposedly, our medicals were sent to and received...

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

^ Hi jtob, what makes you say that? If I'm not mistaken, I've heard of other applicants' cases wherein they saw an update that their medicals were received before seeing "Decision Made." Yet they still got approved...? Why would this mean otherwise? Thanks.

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

Hello, another 2009 FSW applicant here. Just wanted to clarify a few things regarding the E-CAS. We recently got past the medicals stage and according to Nationwide Makati, our medicals were forwarded to the embassy on Oct 02 (more than a week ago). However, upon checking E-CAS today, it still...

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

Thank you both. It's a relief to read your replies. :) Like I mentioned earlier, there was no request for any updated/additional docs when our medical/RPRF requests arrived. It's been pretty smooth-sailing so far (except the anticipation of waiting and a slight setback/delay with our medicals...

    Proof of Funds/Settlement Funds requirement?

^ Is it certain that they will do this? Do they GENERALLY ask for additional/updated documents (bank statements, personal net worth statements, etc.) before coming to a final decision and releasing the visa? If we are able to sell 1 of our properties before they ask us for the said documents...

    FILIPINOS Applying for FSW Page.

Hi fellow Pinoy applicants! Eto naman yung case naman ngayon, hopefully someone can help enlighten us (sorry kung medyo mahaba!). :) We're 5 in the family so our required POF/SF amounts to $22,831 (in CAD). According to our Personal Net Worth Statement, our total net worth was is estimated to...

Does CIC Manila accept property as part of POF or SF?

I know London does and perhaps some others. I also know that others definitely do not. What about Manila, would anyone know?

    Proof of Funds/Settlement Funds requirement?

Hi SK, May I clarify what you mean exactly? Do you mean to say that before we receive a PPR, we should expect that they will ask for an updated bank statement (or perhaps personal net worth statement) and from there, they CAN refuse us cause of insufficient funds?

    Proof of Funds/Settlement Funds requirement?

We are a family of 5, thereby making our required POF/SF $22,831 (in CAD). In our Personal Net Worth Statement that we submitted as part of the application, our total estimated net worth was around $182,000 (equivalent in CAD). However, the majority of that amount is in the form of insurance...

    Issues regarding the medicals?

Finally, some positive news! Our principal applicant attended his appointment with the recommended cardiologist today and no further tests were required. The conclusion was that the PA does not have any serious problems. We were told that the doctor will write a "favorable recommendation" on our...

    Issues regarding the medicals?

Thanks bluepine. I've posted this issue on a couple of different forums and most responses are leaning towards the positive side. Hopefully, indeed, it will blow over and turn out well for us. We've a lot resting on this decision. Any other responses are more than welcome! :)

    Issues regarding the medicals?

Hello everyone, just some concerns about the medical requirements as we (a family of 5) seem to be having a few issues: So our medicals were taken earlier this month. During the check-up, the main applicant declared that he has had issues with hypertension in the past. Because of this, the...
