Also I heard it is much easier for top students in India from IIT/IIM to be recognised and get opportunities in USA as USA most top universities and colleges are aware of IIT/IIM?

I have a valid V1 vistor visa multiple entry with validity till 2023 as I visited for vacation earlier. Can I use that for short term (less than 120 days) research at a public funded Canadian university without any additional visa or work permit?
