    If you go back, you might want to get an FBI certificate before you leave... Well... It might expire by the time you need it, but it wouldn't hurt.

    The PR cards can only be shipped within Canada, if you are from the UK you are safe to exit as you can use your UK Passport to come back sould you need to. But you will need someone in Canada to receive your PR Cards

    I heard somewhere that if you go for 5 months you need to at least wait the remaining month to expire before you reenter because if you reenter before it will be as if you continued your 5 month stay... Like I said... I heard it somewhere (not to be taken seriously)

    I would say you can get your clearance since it's done by mail. But I'm not sure if you can apply while out of status, Where are you from? Why don't you apply from your home country?

    I think it can be a double edge knife... Obviously the country needs to search for what is best, and immigrating a person into a laborer saturated area would obviously affect Canadians negatively, where as immigrating a person into an area with high demand would do the opposite...     Someone with more knowledge will probably come along and give you a better response (or you can go to the site and check the average times)... But what experience I can share is that the last thing you need is to start worrying about time... I can quite possibly (probably) take years...

    That's interesting, I didn't know you needed to export it from the US first. I know that when moving a car to Mexico all you need to do is import it.
