Canadian (in USA) with 2 adopted (US) children - how do I arrange immigration?

Yes...talk to a lawyer or an immigration consultant. Consultants are cheaper and just as good. It all comes down to paperwork. Pay a consultant (or lawyer) a couple hundred dollars to sit down with you and show you what forms you need to fill out and what documentation you will have to get...

Anyone go to their MP for help ???

OK--thanks for that. It's interesting. I was told many months ago, by the MPs office to only go to them once the estimated processing time that is stated on CIC website expires. The estimated processing time for our app is 14 mths. I went back to the MPs office at the 15mth mark. We are now at...

    Just feel like venting

My wife and I tried to get her a visa for her to come here and wait it out, but it didn't happen. I sometimes wonder what it would be like if she was here, in limbo, waiting for this process to be finished. I think she'd try to find a kid to babysit (for cash) ,or something to put in her day. My...

    Should we wait?

Yeah its tough to get free info from a consultant or a lawyer...I guess you could send the certificate (with new name ) , AND all your current I.D (with maiden name) through to them, with an explanation. The FBI or immigration people,or whoever, should understand whats going on, since your new...

    CIC PROCESSING TIME CHANGED

I've been dealing with conservative MP for 3months now. It's been a waste of time so far. I just sent out an email to the local liberal MP,for him to ignore..next step will be to call his office..then after that,I'll go in person. The whole process is horrible.

    Just feel like venting

At least she's with you. Some people (like me and my wife) are continents away from one another for a long long time (been 19mths so far).....an Immigration lawyer told me 2 years ago that the whole sponsorship process is a relationship killer. I've learned that he was not kidding. My wife and...

    Should we wait?

8 months is nothing ! It'll fly by :) --- good luck --- BTW ...I'd ask a immigration consultant/lawyer about the name issue..if the last name on the certificate is different form the last name on your I.D, it may cause problems.

    Should we wait?

It's a long process...you will be asked for evidence of the relationship more than once. You may even be asked for a second medical if the first one expires. I've been going through this process for almost 2 years now...I'm sponsoring my wife to Canada from Botswana. I thought my situation was...
