if youre expecting your PR very soon i would suggest you try to apply for a visitor visa. if you have the funds to show that you can support yourself then it wouldnt be a problem of getting a visitor visa. another option is (just in case CIC will say no to your visitors visa) is that you can try...

the fact that youve had some issues with the immigration in the US alone will likely affect your chances... but you can always try to write a letter to CIC and explain what youve been through and hope for the best... good luck!

what category did you apply your PR? how long have you been working for that company? cause if you had 2 years of paid continuous work you can apply for your PR using CEC (CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS) and that will not send you home... but if your PR is already processed, and assuming you didnt...

yah i think thats how it goes, its all or nothing when it comes to medical exams. i think even if any of the kids has illness, the primary applicant cannot get PR status a/o subject to refusal until everybody is being cleared from any illnesses in the medical exams...
