    Option C Question

Liz64, Just know that the Option C is different than your notice of Assessment. You need to call CRA and request an Option C printout - from the last taxation year! Good luck!

    Information thru FOSS

Sounds like CAIPS notes.... Try looking that up as well. I haven't used it but have heard that others have used them.

How does immigration offices contact applicants

Hey again CONFIDENT!! We seem to be in a similar situation with the office in Kingston. They do not answer the phones, its very unhelpfull. Like I said in another post, you have to fax them with all your contact info and your question (I am guessing its a simple "What is going on with the...

    Additional Documents??

Hello All, My husband has just received a letter from the Canadian Consulate in Jamaica asking for additional documents, I assume "proof" of the legitimacy of our marriage. They suggest things like correspondence, phone bills, etc. We lived together, in Canada for over two years and he has...

    Sponsoring husband from Morocco

Lois Lane, I've just been reading some of your latest posts and some of the most heart wrenching I've read, I must say!! My husband, not from Morocco but from another country, and I have been riding an Immigration roller-coaster for over two years now. You must file an appeal. I completely...

    Detail Over View

You got married over the phone? Do you have a marriage certificate or proof of the marriage? Proof of a relationship before the marriage?? It could take anywhere from 6 months to years to get a visa, is my say.

    Sponsoring family member....question.

They ask for an option-C so you should give them an Option-C. They provide a number to call in order to get it, it comes within a week or two and it's free. Is it from 2006 you need it or 2007? Have you called CIC and asked them your questions? every once and a while someone who can help...

    Future application

Now let me forewarn you I do not know all the answers but I've been dealing with all this Immigration Business for about two years. The forms do seem redundant for sure. I think the best policy is to fill everything in they ask for even if you seem to be repeating yourself. About the...

Obtaing visitor visa while waiting for PR?

That's exactly it! You need to give it a try and best of luck. My husband is applying for PR from within Canada and had to go home b/c his father passed away and now they won't let him back - he was here on a valid visitor's visa. Others have had better luck!

    extension visitor's visa

Lauryn, All I can tell you is that when my husband applied for his extension of the visitor's visa (since he was applying for PR) he asked for 6 months because technically that is what they are "allowed" to give you. They ended up giving it to him for 12 months (since he included the details...

    Published PR wait times

LCS, we seem to be going through vaguely similar situations - as I'm sure are many other frustrated spouses! So you went to your MP? That was my next route. I actually contacted a lawyer since we hit a snag in the last month. My husband's father passed away and since he has a heart he flew...

    Help Needed

Thought I'd add my two cents here. My husband, applying for PR "inland" as it has been called or In-Canada as CIC refers to it as. He had to leave Canada, whilst here on a TRV (visitors visa) and has been refused a TRV to return. We are currently re-applying. What I have learned is that...

Once PR approved, will my spouse be granted a travel visa to pick it up?

Another question... I had read in someones posts re: returning to Canada once PR approved, but can't remember where I saw it. I have also been informed by a lawyer that once my spouse is granted PR (which seems to be soon! ha ha) they have to issue him a travel document to allow him to...

Family not accompanying me to Canada

I also have a similar question. When applying for Perm Residence my husband, the principal applicant, included his daughter (dependent under the age of 22 without children of her own). She completed a medical and that is all the application asked for. Now she has received a letter from the...

    Published PR wait times

All I can say - is I hear you! My husband applied for Perm Residence - In Canada and we've been waiting for a year now.... We got our approval in principle letters however, with the looks of all the wait times I don't feel re assured at all.

Sponsorship in canada - can the applicant leave and return.

Brule, You may not check here anymore - however... I saw your post and it seems similar to my case. My husband left for JA a couple weeks ago and we have applied for Perm, Residence (Nov 2006). He went to get a Temp Resident Visa to return and was refused. He had also kept his Temp Residence...
