you need a transit visa to enter thru the US, it might not be a bright idea though if you dont already have an american visa, someone who once did was denied on the basis that there where several other routes to Canada that dont require visas, also, its slightly cheaper to use the airline sites...

You are likely to re-do your medicals if the results come out positive, its the re-medicals that'll confirm its not contagious, it shouldnt pose any problem, but be prepared for some delay, re-meds do take time, this is because cic is no longer bound to the time frame, they have pushed the blame...

As long as they are aware the pregnancy is that advanced, they'lld withold your passports until after delivery for fear of you taking the risk of travelling at such an advanced stage of pregnancy, assuming the airlines overlook it.
