Yes, that is my understanding. I am waiting for PP request and when I enquired with LA they asked me to contact CIC Ottawa. Once PP request comes in you can rely on the LA or NY consulates. Applied June 2.

Purpose of visit: I suggest you write a letter explaining your reason for travel - also mention in the letter that you have the invitation that is attached as a separate document.

sumitnagal - I think you are ok. I read in CIC sites and other forums that transit visa is free. $150 is for visitor visa or other TRV visas that are not transit.

You will need your US immigration documents for your return to the US. If I recall my prior experience at the border years ago, the Canadian's will only care to see the Canadian visa stamp.

My online application (Jun 2) was for m-in-law's visitor visa. 52 days will mean no Alaska cruise and money down the drain for us. Others who have received PP request - was your TRV for visitor or was it for work/study? Thanks.

Question for those who got the PP request - Does the passport request arrive with an email to your personal email account OR do you have to login to MyCIC (which is formidable with the timeouts) for new messages?
