Hi Report writing is no more a part of the Writing task 1 for general training. The task 1 rather is a letter writing task which serves a more practical purpose .

Check out 2171, 2173, 2174 for software professionals. Depending upon your duties, you are likely to fit into one of those. If you hold a mgmt position, 0213 is the NOC category (which is the only one of the above mentioned which exists in the ministerial list of 38 occupations).
