It seems there's a decent amount of support for both sides. My concern with waiting until we arrive to change her passport is the PR card. I've read some posts about PR cards taking 3 or 4 months to arrive after you've landed. If we then have to file for a replacement card to change her name...

x2 I never appreciated how insane Canada's rates were until I moved to the UK. I can't believe they still charge customers to receive calls as well as make them.

I'd second what angelbrat recommended and throw Burnaby, Coquitlam and Port Moody into the mix for excellent areas that you might be able to find more affordable accommodation in. Good luck! Mike
