Really??? That great! You have been most helpful. I think I will still call Revenue Canada or have my Dad call since I'm abroad right now. Just to get this 100% but I will contact her bank here to start looking into how to get my wife's money to Canada the easiest way.
This is great and is very helpful but I am more curious about cash. Is there and what are the tax laws on taking cash into Canada when you are a new immigrant?
Does anyone know anything about if my wife will get taxed when she gets to Canada and crosses the border for the first time? She will be bringing money with her but they never mention anything about how much she can bring or if she will be taxed on it. I checked this website and CIC and also...
Just got back from the travel agent and we bought our ticket home. So things are moving ahead for us. July 27th I will be back home in Canada. Well maybe the 28th with some sort of delay with the planes.
I was afriad this would happen. A lot of us have received PPR and at least one of us, me, has received PR. So it's gotten very quiet on our topic board. I keep looking at our group but we need to really help those who haven't heard anything.
I didn't use it when I sponsored my wife and she is Chinese. Not only that but she has received her PR status but we haven't left China yet. Our relationship is real and we proved it by living together for almost 2 yrs, dating for 3 yrs and being married for just over a yr. We send screen shots...
I was on holiday with my wife for 4-5 days. When we got back my wife found a note on the door from the mailman saying she had a package. She went to get it today and was confused to see all our pictures and proof that our relationship is real. Not to worry cause it's ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...
Melbell and jma I hear you guys. Beijing, where I'm applying, is better and worse then your visa office is ways. Their letter they sent in Dec ( ;) Yeah one of their good points) said 6 months (other good point much faster than your guys) but there's no way to contact besides email (no in...
It's hard reading this group now that Beijing has my all my wife's paper (hopefully :)) I see you guys getting some news even though it may not be necessary. Plus with Beijing asking for the passport in advance I won't have that step of PPR. :( :(
Hoping and praying!!!
I wasn't born there. I moved there when I was 17 and lived there for 10 yrs before coming to China. I'll go back there because yes it's a beautiful and peaceful place (especially in the fall) and my parents are still there and moving my wife from China to Canada I think being around my family...
Does anyone have wishes they need granted? Yesterday I posted asking for my wife's Quebec approval and 2 hrs later it's sitting in my mailbox downstairs.
Today we sent it out to Beijing with her passport so hopefully they have everything they need and it's just waiting the 6 months. Of course...
I WANT MY WIFE'S QUEBEC APPROVAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I can mail it with her passort to Beijing and then at least the process can stat to move forward. I need to be out of China in less then 6 months and it takes about 6 months for Beijing to make a decision and they haven't even started to...
It seems everyone is nervous, excited top get their AOR.
I JUST WANT MY QUEBEC APPORVAL!!!!!! So that I can get on with this 6 month waiting to hear if my wife can come to Canada. Especially when you factor in that my visa expires in a little over 6 months.
To Canadayogini,
Yes they did ask for my wife's passport but I thought the process was Sponsorship approved, AOR, interview (if necessary), approved, PPR, Landed. So I thought nothing of it when they asked for her passport with the AOR.
When we got our AOR from the visa office they emailed my wife and asked her for 3 things 1) her passport 2) Quebec approval letter (we're moving with my family in Quebec so Quebec gov't must approve) 3) pay the $490. Actually she got 2 emails. The first asked for only 2 of these things, the...
