Yes ... basically saying all the documents and photos have been checked, and then the word "passed". How about you?

Of course I don't mind nelly jan. According to the GCMS notes, the officer passed the eligibility, medical and criminality and started the security on the same day that my status changed to "in process" ... all within 7 minutes!! ;D

It's a fact that there is a number assigned to each visa office for issuing different kind of visas, but what the numbers mean and how strict they are I guess nobody knows except CIC. http://www.cic.gc.ca/francais/ministere/pni/non-economique.asp

It's just a hypothesis and is as valid as others ... only time will tell us what the heck was the reason for this long interruption in issuing pprs at the Ankara office. It's like that Gary Moore's song which says: "Your life is like a wishing well, Where it goes only time will tell" ... of...

I don't think it's security check anymore. Look at these stats from a lawyer's office: http://www.parscanada.com/contents.aspx?pID=1758 You might need to create an account to be able to see them but basically they report many pprs in October for Iranians from the Warsaw office and not a single...

Hi all - we got our GCMS note today. I have a question for those who got their notes ... is it normal to have SUB ACTIVITY under SECURITY (at page 8 of the document)?

Thanks for sharing. Doesn't it say if your marriage has been confirmed or not? Eligibility, Criminality and Medical were all validated at Mississauga not Ankara, right?

It's really upsetting!! and starting Oct. 25, the embassy will be closed for 5 days ... so if we don't get any ppr by then, it would be almost a month without any ppr!! ???

We have ordered them a few days ago. However, since almost a week after they have started to "process" our application, they asked us to pay the landing fee, we assume that they have already confirmed our marriage and hopefully started the security checks ...

Nilu jan, does it say in the notes if and when they have started the security check?

I know! Most of us have spent all our adult life to this point in school, and the female ones haven't even done any military service ... so security screening should take only 10 minutes for people like me! There is nothing there to check! :D

Not sure if it's Ankara's fault. I just received this article in the e-mail (from almost a month ago): http://www.cicsnews.com/?p=1576 It says "Iranians applying for immigration to Canada are being rigorously screened by the Canadian government for links to the Iranian political leadership...

We too hadn't paid the fees, and what I told you was based on personal experience. The funny thing was that 10 days after we paid the fees and submitted the receipt to Mississauga (by courier), Ankara contacted us and asked us to pay the landing fee. :) We followed up with CIC and it took...

It takes at least three weeks until Ankara receives the acknowledgement from CIC Mississauga. In addition, it will take some time for your officer to pick up your file again and continue the processing. I'd suggest rather than asking this from you lawyer, simply call CIC and consult with an agents.

Dear Niloo, So for your friend they did the interview after the background check!? I was under the impression that when a file goes to background check, it means that the marriage has been approved.
