Thanks all! :-* @Toronto88: No, he is in Toronto. @mehdiR: My file was transferred to Ankara early July so for me it was less than 6 month. The 16 months processing time for Ankara is obviously misleading and I am sure that January will bring PPR to a lot of people here. ;D @Sheyda: My medical...

Hello all, I Just wanted to inform you that I got my PPR yesterday! :P :P I applied on March 15, the status of my file turned to in-process on Sept 11, and I got my PPR on Dec 28. I wish you all get your PPRs very very soon. ;D

For me it was "Registry". But don't worry, if it were something important you would have been contacted by now! :)

Wow, I think you are done!! Hopefully you'll soon be contacted to send your passport to Ankara ... ;D May I ask what is your "Security" status - still blank or "Passed"? Also what is the "Updated Date" on the first page of your notes (under "Application")?

I think everybody whose security check has started has a sub-activity under "security", with type "security screening". As others have mentioned, certain information about security (e.g., status, due date, updated date, etc.) cannot be released to the applicant, and therefore they are removed...

    1. It's the right of PR fee, I assume you haven't paid it. 2. It's the same for everyone, meaning if you even separate from the sponsored person, you are still required to support him/her financially for 36 months. 3. Any number above 0 means "Required"

It means your Iranian Police Certificate (PC) was confirmed and your Criminality is passed.

Well, this is "how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases" ... in other words 20% of the processed cases waited more than 16 months. Once again, I encourage everybody who have been in process more than 2-3 months to please contact the embassy and, very politely and professionally...

I am not sure but I think they are different terminologies for the same process. In the GCMS notes it says "Security Screening" but in the email I got from the embassy , they called it "Background Check".

I guess the least each one of us can do is to send an email to Ankara and mention that it's getting extremely frustrating for us and inquire about our case status. Even if they don't respond, with enough of us writing to them they may reset their priorities (rather than issuing tens of student...

Kazhal, where are you? Did you get PPR? ;D Any follow ups with Ankara regarding your security check?

Thanks! Can you figure out from the GCMS notes when your security check started?

Mehdi, have you ordered the GCSM noted for your file? 8 months in process is too much, specially since your file was directly transferred to Ankara!!

Kazhal, didn't Ankara start processing your file in July 2012? Then how is that possible that your security check got done before July? :)

According to the second link CSIS does the security check for immigrants but it's a government organization with presumably so many departments. I am sure if you contact them they will connect you to the right department ... although I personally don't recommend any contact with CSIS ... after...

Maybe they just want to confirm with Paris if they can extend your medical or they should request another one from you! Don't worry, hopefully they'll extend it. Anything about security or background check?
