If you apply for OWP that also means the office will evaluate her visa eligibility so that she can join you in Canada. Nothing is more guaranteed. I have seen accepts and rejects in both cases.

The processing of PR is different from any other visa/wp application and shouldnt affect it. I think you might need to update ur marital status with ur province where u applied for PNP. Concealing status change could affect your application.

i guess now it happens through e-mail that you had given when u filed the application. one of my frnds received it thru email... but before that it used to happen thru postal mail.. e-cas statuses are unreliable....

You should notify the CIC immediately when the status changes. Hiding the status change could land you in trouble later on as is clearly mentioned in the CIC website.

You should do an update to the concerned consulate office processing your application. They will direct you further.

Sure, give it a try at the border. In our case, the person at the POE didnt have any clue about the wp eligibility, so he said to apply from inside Canada. Good Luck

Just wanted to update that the work permit of my spouse has been approved. So in short, if you have all the documents and you are in line with what the CIC website states, normally it is how it should be :). Good luck to everyone else.
