I was never issued an AOR, and my wife had her medicals done on April 20th. (They'll likely request a follow-up medical, but we'll burn that bridge when we get to it ;P) We're bound for St. John's, Newfoundland, if all goes according to plan.

It strikes me that they wouldn't need your passport unless they were planning on approving you. I can't see any other reason why they would need it. Hence why some people I've talked to have called the Passport Request the "Pre-Confirmation" of Permanent Residence. :P
