Apply for a TRV within 90 days of the date your BOWP expired. After that you won't be on implied status anymore and will be tough to get any sort of visa to stick around and stay. You will need to restore your status as well.

Have your company try and get you an LMIA. I am not sure how often CIC does it but I got a one year WP extension after my PGWP ran out. This gave me enough time to apply for EE and get my PR done.

The best thing to do is drive down to the US and fly from there. Fly back to the US and drive back up to Canada. You can cross the border in a private vehicle or on foot with CoPR while waiting for the PR card.
