You can apply for tourist visa (with a max. stay upto 6 months) with a processing time of 5-10 business days or a quick option is eTV which is an electronic visa issued through an email within 2-3 days. eTV is a good option is your stay in India is less than 30 days.

I suggest do not rely on the processing time of 42 days. My application is well over 3 months and I still do not have my OCI. You may wait since you have time. There are couple of options available in case if you do not receive your OCI in time.

My OCI status says it is dispatched from MOIA New Delhi on 18th July 2016. I'm not sure if I get it before my travel on 1st August. Any idea how long it takes CGI Vancouver to receive it and then deliver to us??

Do they request for your Canadian passport for placing a sticker on it? I believe previously they request for your passport. I don't know the current process though.

In the invitation letter for minor, it states that we should bring 2 pieces of personnel identification, one with picture on it, along with the PR card and all passports. What if the minor has only PR card and passport but no other photo identification? Please advise. Thanks

Do you mean Diploma/Degree certificate will be enough in lieu of transcript ? That is how I interpret CIC's application guide.

At times I believe, now it is better to remain PR in stead of going for citizenship. With PR, you may live outside for any 3 years without bothering about intent to reside. With new citizenship law, the intent to reside sword always hangs.
