    INLANDERS!

Does anybody know why it seems to take CIC longer and longer each week to update the website? And why the date always reflects the Monday of the week, even though there is no update until like....Friday?

Sponsoring a spouse with illegal status?

You are right that they have no way of looking up whether or not you left. For all they know, they could at this point assume that you are already back in the U.S. However, right now you are illegal and therefore you being here is a huge risk (ie., what if a cop pulled you over and was super...

Sponsoring a spouse with illegal status?

Agreed. While it does say on paper that you can apply for PR even if no legal status, you still do not want to give CIC any impression that you have overstayed or are here illegally. It just adds to the processing time and makes them overall skeptical about your application. You are best just...

    information needed. thank you

Here is a link to a thread for March applicants who applied outland, like yourself. They usually pass around timelines, so you can have a better idea of where your app is in the pile. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-march-2010-applicants-t35680.15.html...

    INLANDERS!

First, I asked for a year. Also, don't worry about your status expiring right now because you mailed it in. As long as you mail your app into CIC before the date your current visa expires, you are good to go. If and when your old one expires, you are on "implied status" until you receive a...

    INLANDERS!

I had my client ID number from my old visitor record that was extended. It is listed on your visitor record, it says "client id" it is listed under the box that says "country of citizenship" That is the same client id that is tied with your PR app. Try logging in with that, if you have one...

    INLANDERS!

Are you able to log into e-CAS yet, Purlage? Mine is 7 days before you and today is exactly 7 days from when I first was able to log in. I would give it 'til the end of the week.

    Help with sponsor Forms?

Your inbox was full, so I replied here: yes, she has to fill out form 5490 as part of the application. The application is three parts, as described here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp You have to complete all three parts. For the region specific forms, you need...

In regards to the call center, the right hand often doesn't know what the left is doing if you know what I mean. Best is to just use their info as a rough guide and stay patient. It'll come through.

    INLANDERS!

Correct, as I mentioned in previous post, "the only way you could work prior to AIP, would be if you had a work permit."

    Help with sponsor Forms?

One is for inland and one is for outland. Those are the two ways to apply, and its up to you which one you choose. In most cases, applying outland is much quicker than inland, and you have a right to appeal with outland, and not for inland. I'll give you the links to each page so you can read...

    INLANDERS!

First, I'm not sure where you got the idea that you can work while applying inland. Just to clarify--when you apply inland, you apply for an open work permit concurrently, and then 6 months after you send the app in (give or take a month or so) you application comes up for review for AIP...

    INLANDERS!

Haha, yea i wasn't meaning to imply that you were obsessed just more a word of caution that one can get obsessed if not careful. This whole process really plays with your mind. I find it best to try and forget about it for a while.

    INLANDERS!

It was 2 1/2 months before my application even started processing. I really would not worry about that. As far as sending supporting materials, I would just wait until they ask you for more. There is a point where you just have to be satisfied with what you sent in. They will contact you...

    getting married in ontario

One thing to mention about getting married in Ontario is that it takes 10 weeks to get the marriage certificate, after it is signed at your wedding. This is the document you need in order to apply for PR. So you get your marriage license from city hall, where you present your ID and they type...

    INLANDERS!

For inland applications, if you did not apply for OWP with your PR app, then you can only apply for OWP when you get AIP. But since you already have a work permit, you might be able to apply for an extension on that sooner. I would say, go ahead and apply now for the extension, just in case...

    INLANDERS!

so what you are saying is that, say my app was sent in and received by Vegreville Dec 14, started processing on Mar 1, so then I count 5-6 months from Mar 1, not Dec 14? That would be like 8 months or so just for AIP decision stage since when I went to the post office and mailed it...that...
