If you can travel to Surrey your application will be processed very quickly. It takes more than a year for Nanaimo Applicants who want write there test locally and take a oath here. Call CIC and tell them you can travel to Surrey for test and Oath.

I used the file number I was assigned after I made the online application. I used this site to track ://passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury. Date of acknowledgement was the date MEA New Delhi Acknowledged the application. I never got any email. Just online Inquiry.

Application In process as of today.. But I know my test won't be before Mid June because Nanaimo is a itinerant office. CIC officials only come here quarterly basis. Last visit was second week of March 2016, so probably next visit would be sometime mid June.

I didn't understand your question, but there is no need to have a valid PR card to apply for Citizenship.

I applied with a expired PR Card and Expired Passport. All I had do was attach a explanation letter for not renewing the both documents. I got my PR card renewed afterwards. I had problems with my Language evidence. Had to take the $$$$ CELPIP root and waste 6 weeks. Finally got AOR this time.

Don't worry to much, you will get AOR soon. CIC is processing PR Card Applications so fast now. I applied in Nov 2015 and got AOR in Feb 2016.

It's Five years. I also applied for citizenship, hopefully won't need to renew it again.

I personally think that should not make a difference. As long as CIC gets the correct payment you should be OK. Maybe give the Call Centre a Call to be on the safe side. 1-888-242-2100

Start from here. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become.asp Make sure you use the online calculator for days calculation. Only mail the application when you have everything ready. Any missing document they will mail the whole application back to you. Specially the Language Evidence...

Good Luck! Beautybear. I myself actually applied in January 2016 at first, but my application was returned as of the Language Evidence not on acceptable list. Did the CELPIP test mid February, now finally got the Certificate and mailed my application again. Hopefully things go well this time.
