I just remembered one detail I didn't mention in my description of the landing process: the immigration officer asked how much money I had at my disposal. Because I'm immigrating to Quebec I'm not required to have any money but since she didn't insist on any documentation I just made up a number...

Thanks. We just got back, fittingly during the beginning of a snow storm. The landing process was pretty fast and unproblematic. We crossed the border at Philipsburg/St. Armand, and the whole process was done in maybe 20 minutes. The immigration officer asked if I had ever been convicted, denied...

Oh, one more question: is there any way to withdraw my visitor visa extension and get my 80 dollars back? Not that it matters too much, but 80 dollars are 80 dollars. I submitted the application 10 days ago and my visitor visa is still good until January 15.

Same here! "Decision made" as of today!! 8) 8) 8) 8) So how long is it going to take until COPR gets here? I'm very excited!

Indeed. That would be an awesome Christmas present! But I'll try not to get my hopes up too much.

Whoa, just checked ECAS. Because it's Saturday and I had just checked yesterday I felt that there's no point, but checked anyway. And they have updated my home address! It still says "In Process" but I take this as a good sign. Question for those who've had the same thing happen: did they...

Quick (non-)update from me: I submitted my visitor visa extension today, as there hasn't been any news from Vienna and my visitor visa will expire in 30 days. Sigh.

Ugh, this reminds me that I have to take care of this soon. I had hoped that the PR would come through in time but it doesn't look like it at the moment.

I agree, the physician has it wrong. This is a common issue if you already are in Canada -- physicians here are mostly doing exams for inland applications and therefore are less familiar with the outland procedure.

Very interesting. Indeed, I only have the "Current mailing address" showing up. Let's hope that Franzi will get COPR soon. And everyone else.

Where did the Vienna thread go?

I haven't been around for a week or so and now it seems like the long Vienna thread has disappeared :o Even when I look at my own posts those that went on that thread are no longer there. Anybody know what's going on there? Very confusing.

    ECAS broken?

Am I the only one for whom ECAS appears to be broken? The dropdown lists for date and place of birth are all empty and I've tried two different browser. Maybe a Thanksgiving weekend shutdown? ;D

I see so many ppl with their medicals done ...

For what it's worth, I had my medicals done on the same day that I sent in my outland application. It took a long time for my ECAS status changing to "medicals received" but I have no idea if that has anything to do with when I had the exam done. Since the whole process takes so long anyway it...

What can I expect at airport Montreal?

Cough cough, Vienna hasn't issued any PR visa since April. They may have been fast in the past but at the moment they're anything but. Feel free to join us in the Vienna thread.

What can I expect at airport Montreal?

I entered at Montreal in July, after returning from a trip to Europe during which my previous student visa expired. It was not a problem at all: at the border control they asked about the expired visa and I told them that I had an ongoing PR application (my sponsor hadn't been approved at that...
