I just got this by email on the 30th The current processing time for an FBI Background Check is taking 14+ weeks to complete from the date the request was received. It can take up to 10 weeks for a request to clear our security process before we are able to see the request in our system.

Take my advice; don't do that, please :( You're taking the risk of wasting 3 - 4 months and doing it all over again.

It doesn't matter at all when the VO asks you for your FBI PCC What matters the most is whether you stayed in the US for 6 or more month in the past 10 years prior to your application date i.e. June 2014 In short, please apply for an FBI PCC ASAP. I hope that helps.
