Question: My wife is starting a teaching gig in Manitoba and she called to ask if I was covered (not PR yet). THey said once I had a temporary SIN I will be covered. MY question is if I will get a temporary SIN upon receiving AIP and/or OWP? thanks :)

Definitely won't affect it. We've called CIC about this and have informed them that we are on EI. "Okay thanks" was the response. So, they just don't want you on social assistance.

My application also says still in process yeah. I assume it will be that way til we get our AIP as they don't actually process our, the sponsored, information until after the AIP. Hope they get to it soon!!!!!!!

Yep, you can apply outland and still remain in Canada. You will have to keep extending your visitor's visa while you stay in Canada however.
