Definitely won't affect it. We've called CIC about this and have informed them that we are on EI. "Okay thanks" was the response. So, they just don't want you on social assistance.

Yep, you can apply outland and still remain in Canada. You will have to keep extending your visitor's visa while you stay in Canada however.

    Sending Additional Proof

mexicanada, If you feel that the additional proof will help your case, send it in! More proof is always good if you feel there's isn't a great amount to begin with. BUT if you feel you have already sent in tons of great evidence, then perhaps let it sit. Worst case scenario is that they call...

    Advice please?

Hello, While I am not experienced enough to give you a definitive answer, I do know that outland applications are typically faster, so applying after he leaves would work. However, you can start the process for outland before he leaves, just the paperwork will go to the country he will be...

    Sponsored by Canadian common-law girlfriend?

The only reason, in my eyes, to go inland route is so that you can start working, via an Open Work Permit, after stage 1 approval (6 months). Since you are already working in Canada, you can apply outland, get everything done super quick, and get PR fast. So, in your case, I would go outland...

    Mailing Address

You probably can, but then expect any important documents to go to the Philippines, which might be a hassle for you. You can always give them your current address and change it before going back to the Philippines. Perhaps changing it 3-4 weeks before you go back would allow enough time for...

    Sponsoring spouse in land

As mentioned above, send everything together (and yes, the stack is amazing!) Medical and background checks can be sent in afterward as they will first be processing the sponsor's information (i'm assuming you are the person being sponsored?). But, if you have to leave the country to get this...
