my guess is that they can actually get the data, but there is a safety clause in place so no one misuses or takes advantage of sensitive information. just because you work at CIC doesn't mean you have take a look at when your lover is leaving or entering the country kind of deal :D

like i said, it's probably for legal reasons. they are kinda snooping into your travel history and am sure someone filed a case against them. may be the CIC is trying to cover all legal bases. this link says cbsa and cic can share information between themselves...

that sounds positive to me. may be the judge wanted a closer look. be positive. hope you don't have to renew the PR card any time soon.

source that they can get from CBSA? for the PR renewal they dont ask for permission (not sure if that changed too) but they do a background check from CBSA anyway.

did the officer mention if he/she was going to recommend you to the judge in the positive?

CIC can get CBSA data any time, but I believe they want your consent for legal reasons.

I had the same issue, but since I stay in Windsor, I guess the officer understood it better. I mentioned to her I have a really close school friend in Michigan whom I visit almost every month, other than doing grocery, watching sports and movies, going to IKEA. :D

that's correct. i know some people panic at the immigration and try to join the visitor line to get a stamp. completely unnecessary.

oh yes the officer is fully prepared. they even have police records, etc. in my case, the officer didn't even check my stamps, she simply asked why do i visit US so much? it's good to show ties in canada during the meeting, like spouse is or applied for PR, bought a house, etc.

if you have a stamp on the passport and/or COPR with you, you needn't worry. they check the frequency of travel and countries you have visited (from calculator and passport) more than actual dates. even i had certain dates missing.

i don't have any stamps since i became a PR. the officer always checked my PR card and customs declaration sheet. only a glance at the passport.

you may very well be in the march 31st group purrple. dont forget to memorize "o canada" :D

relax, the cbsa has much more information than the passport stamps. infact in my case they didn't even check the canada stamps. make sure your other country stamps are in order though (if you have mentioned them in the residence calculator)

think of the fact that you got the oath letter before CIC head office got the notification and updated the e-cas.
