The complete process takes around 6 months on normal time without exceptions. I would think around two more months in your case. Refer to the spreadsheet where others have posted and track the timelines.

We went in for the called interview. It was more of a landing formality. Checked the documents. Asked a couple basic questions about criminal background, asked to leave canada etc and done. Took about 20 mins in and out.

Question about Medical: I understand that you visit the panel doctor first and then go the lab for further tests. We pay about $220 for the doctor visitation depending on who you visit. If my spouse who is the sponsored, gets her provincial health card, does that cover her visit to the doc?

If you have family photos, they suffice. But yes, if you wish to have letters, thats ok too. There is no enough proof you can provide, just keep it to a limit where its easy on the officer handling your case too.

Not Family members. Just friends and colleagues if applicable. The letter should mention how long this person has known each one of you. Also, if its your friend then when did he/she meet your other half and how. Ill try to find my sample letter and PM you.

For personal effects too, if he/she is landing with two luggage (for example), just have a list of whats being carried. This is helpful as they will allow the items to be brought in tax-free on the initial landing. This helps them to understand if anything needs to be reported further. Just a...
