Mine started on Aug 23, but nothing further yet! Waiting even though it's long gone past the event date for which I applied.

The purpose of my travel (the event date) has passed and I still haven't heard back from IRCC. I understand that they still process the application but mine's been stuck on eligibility review for over a week. My question is how long does the eligibility review take on average?

Once you're logged in to your GCKey account, check the 'Full Application Status' and the next page shows the stages for your application. Under Eligibility Review it'll give you the information if they've started your eligibility review yet or not.

Waiting can be inarguably extremely frustrating, by all means, you can re-apply through the new portal as no one actually knows how the system works. But I doubt that you'll be getting a refund on the application fees of CAD 100 though. I applied on Aug 5 through GCKey and there's no update so...

My tentative travel date was Aug 16, 2022, i.e today, but I haven't heard back from them so there's not much I can do. But I'd like to know the answer to this question too, as it becomes a bit futile if the occasion/ purpose of travel is no longer there. So, it would be interesting to find out...
