I did not have a visa stamp on my Indian passport, only approved I797. You do not need to transfer visa to Canadian passport. At port of entry, you can show visa office I797 and Canadian Passport.

You can renounce it in Indian embassy in US and also get OCI from Indian embassy in US. I did it recently.

I did not live in Canada all of 2022. I had a savings bank account in Canada from which I got less then $100 income total. When I try to use turbotax, it shows be $15 income tax on $100 income. Isn't <$14K tax exempt? Thanks, Vishal

I am here in US and the service provider for OCI is VFS but there application guidelines aren't clear. The form seems to be only for US nationals. Does anyone know if Canadian citizen has to submit application in Canada or can do so in US? Thanks, Vishal

In the old tracker, application was marked complete on 18th Oct, one day after my oath. In new tracker last update is 11th Oct and ceremony still in progress.

I went in person and picked up my passport on Nov 4th, 2 day processing. so I have all I need. I am wondering if there is still some step for them to close my application.

I did my oath on 17th Oct, got certificate on Nov 1st and Passport on Nov 4th. My old tracker showed complete on Oct 18th but new tracker has not been updated since Oath and shows ceremony In progress. Does anyone know if there is still anything outstanding that they need to do? Thanks, Vishal

Yes, you should be able to do that from US, you will need ot submit application through vfs https://services.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind/apply-for-renunciation as part of instructions above, they will ask you to submit an application here, print it and attach it to the application above...

You can use a notary instead of guarantor, but you probably need references https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/travel-documents-references-guarantors.html#references
