it's taking around 6-8 months.

yes. Once you apply for PGWP, it doesn't matter when your study permit is expiring. Your status will be implied and you can work under the implied condition until you receive a final decision. I applied mine in August 2022 and received work permit in January 2023.

not sure why it is asking first day of work in Canada & last day.....is this PGWP extension due to passport expiry or other type of work permit?

Last Friday I was able to link my application to the GCKEY. (after 109 days, they atleast assigned the application number). Not a great update but atleast the application moved from pre-processing to processing.

You will get your PGWP delivered to your home address.
