Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

Just received GCMS notes requested from the CBSA. Like many others, this perpetual background check issue makes no sense. By looking at the notes I can see this issue existed in Feb 2024, and today is still the only outstanding issue holding up our application. Have sent an email back to...

    Webform

Ah, all good now. Windsor office provided me with a separate email I could send my document to, instead of trying to use the webform.

Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

That article you posted doesn't surprise me at all with this federal department. Still trying to figure out myself how on earth does it take six plus months to complete a background check on an individual, are they using MS Dos and the Keystone Cops to accomplish this task in the year 2024...

    Webform

Not experienced this before, attempted to upload IMM5476 PDF document on the webform which is well within the 2MB file limit size and it keeps saying it's too big, so IRCC receives my email without any attachment. Haven't experienced this before, do notice that when I choose the file it...

Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

Appears the IRCC can get away with these ridiculous timelines by labelling applications as non-routine. Ours has been stuck as well on one background check, how on earth it takes multiple months or even years to accomplish this in this day and age is anyone's guess. Without a doubt the most...

Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

If that's the case surely my file would have been finalized by now since I have had my local MP involved for months. My understanding is they can not tell you who is actually doing the final security check which has held up approval of our file for months. I ended up sending an ATIP request...

Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

Finally heard back from a CBSA agent today, asking for one more document before they will proceed with my ATIP request. Let's see how much longer it takes to get the next response on our file.

Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

Day 15 since I requested GCMS notes from the CBSA, have had zero communication from them regarding my query other than my docs were uploaded ok and they received my request. Not holding my breath that my efforts will help at all. On another note chatted with an IRCC agent yesterday. Took 6...

Anyone stuck in Spousal PR security check over 1 year (not criminality but security background check) Please join here

I hear ya bro' totally inept and inefficient federal department. My wife's son (20) doesn't want to exit the country until he gets his PR card, and had to renew my wife's work permit recently since we are still waiting for a final decision. Total gong show IMHO. Damn near impossible to find...

And now we play the waiting game. One week since I requested the info. from CBSA. No emails as yet requesting further info or status update.

Originally applied Via mail Aug. 2022; docs uploaded online Oct. 2022. Application Status Tracker (PR Application)

Sent an online request for GCMS notes yesterday from CBSA to explain why there is such a delay in completing one background check on an individual. Ridiculous that the IRCC tracker hasn't moved in six months when this is the only issue that needs to be finalized, IMHO. Let's see how long it...

CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

Is there a preferred browser to use if I do decide to request CBSA Notes. Used Safari on a Mac, set up my authentication app which apparently is required now. Went to access the link to fill out forms electronically and hit with error messages. System will be down on Sunday for a spell...

    Application Status Tracker (PR Application)

Fair enough, but six months + to complete this task is nonsense.

    Application Status Tracker (PR Application)

What's the use of this IRCC tracker, mine hasn't updated in months. Now why it takes multiple months to complete one single background check on an individual in this day and age is anyone's guess. This is apparently the only remaining item to be finalized and it's been like this for six...

CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

Thanks for the prompt reply. Two year anniversary yesterday of our file being uploaded to the IRCC website. Only positive I guess, I was able to renew my wife's work permit recently, processing times for this supposedly 128 days which is crazy.

CSIS and CBSA notes for Background Check

Curious, is it even worthwhile ordering CSIS notes if much of the info. is going to be redacted? Ordered GCMS notes number of months back and that didn't really tell me why the significant delay in approving spousal inland and PR application either. Local MP not much help either as they can't...

    Work Permit Extension Timeline(Inside Canada) - 2024

Submitted a renewal of a work permit for my spouse online earlier this week as her work permit will expire later in Dec. 2024. There would have been no need to fork over $255 if the IRCC had done their job and got PR cards to us in a reasonable time frame. I suppose these may still arrive...

    NON-ROUTINE APPLICANTS

What I read into this non-routine designation is that it's taking far too long to process our application. IRCC tracker shows the last remaining security check listed as IN PROGRESS for months FFS. No additional request for docs for months and it's two years since the IRCC initially received...

Pre arrival services Letter - Family Class sponsorship outside Canada

Received that pre-arrival letter last Dec. which I thought was odd considering our application was an inland sponsorship. Now August 2024 and still the IRCC tracker month after month says "in progress" with apparentlya security check for one individual outstanding. How this takes multiple...
