Yes, don't think it matters whether it's a physically separate document or a clearly separated section and clearly specifies it's about the plans/intent to return to Canada. I did it separate so I could keep in order and group the bits like this with the related documents. But whatever works...

Lots here have done, there is a tracking spreadsheet to get an idea of timelines. Most (~80%) are done in less than a year in normal times, and getting back to normal despite COVID. A fair number get done considerably quicker. Ours was done in one year despite hitting the worst of covid delays...
