***APRIL 2017***SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Who told you this? The sponsor can be living outside of Canada, but in this case must show intent to return to Canada when the PA is granted residence. We got RFE'd for that actually, and had to submit an additional statement, affidavits from friends and proof of applying to grad school (for...

    spouse visa

Sponsors-PR residents have to stay in Canada during the whole process to sponsor their spouses. Only citizens are allowed to sponsor physically residing outside Canada if they can prove their intent to return back to Canada when their spouse gets approved.

Proof needed that I will live in Canada with my partner

I asked a similar question before, and here is a great response I got, So I wrote a letter saying where (very specifically) we would be looking for a place to rent when we got back, the types of jobs we would be applying for, etc. I attached screenshots of places on Craigslist in our price...

Newly married wife, 2nd try for her getting Visitor Visa Q's

Don't bother applying for sponsorship at this point, as you would need to prove your intent to settle in Canada when your partner is approved, which you don't actually intend to do. Some get away with showing next to nothing while others are requested to show solid proofs. If IRCC isn't...

Potential issues with outland application and going to Canada on TRV?

US citizens are visa-exempt, so there is no possible visa to apply for. They simply show up at the border, and enter as a vistor based solely on their US passport. In most cases CBSA simply waves them in, which gives an automatic 6-months visitor status. If any issues at the border CBSA may...

question regarding IMM5532 Monthly gross salary / income

Yup, I'm not in Canada and am applying Outland to sponsor my spouse. Thanks for the link and will use this to convert my salary to Canadian dollars. Do you think it's necessary to handwrite in CDN after the $ to ensure there is no confusion? I suppose it couldn't hurt and this form doesn't have...

question regarding IMM5532 Monthly gross salary / income

The OP may not be in Canada at all. Canadian Citizens do not have to be in Canada to sponsor a spouse (though they must show active intent to return to Canada once the application is approved). Non-citizen PR's do have the requirement to be in Canada in order to sponsor a family member, however...

    Spousal TRV

Your wife can apply for a TRV/tourist visa. Chances of approval would depend on how well she proves that she (and you) must return to the US. You can get some suggestions here...

    Spousal TRV

I am a Canadian PR currently residing in the US. I recently got married, however we are yet to process my wife's PR application. Can I apply for a tourist visa for her right now? What are the chances of it getting approved considering we show definite intent to return back to the US?

Are our Supporting Documents strong enough? Proof of relationship/intent to move to Canada/income

Thanks so much for your response! It's tough trying to know what's going to be enough evidence. We really don't want to have any reason to be delayed as I said before, my visa is running out in Australia so I'll have to go back to Canada in November regardless of my CLP's visa approval which...

    Proof of intent

I actually just recently replied to a similar thread with some suggestions, so I'll copy and paste here: -Depending on the province you're returning to, you might not have health insurance right away, like Ontario. Get in touch with a private insurance company like Blue Cross or whoever, get a...
