    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

So I received my GCMS notes, and honestly it's all just a jumble to me. Any notes I can see, just say I was refused because I don't meet requirements. Lists all the evidence we submitted, and says I am refused. I'm not sure how these were supposed to help me. I don't understand why that...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Ok, so just phoned the Federal Court of Appeals here in Calgary, have been told the deadline for inland spousal sponsorship is 15 days, but when I file the appeal I can ask for an extension. She also said it's not a requirement I have legal counsel.

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Oh my god, this is such a joke. Is there ANYONE who actually knows what the hell they're doing? I think the deadline for Federal Appeals is 15 days, and we've passed that.

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Well I called Immigration & Refugee board in Vancouver, was put through to Immigration Appeal Department, my first question was "can I appeal for an inland spousal sponsorship refusal?" She said yes, just the sponsor had to be Canadian, I asked if i was required legal counsel, and she said no.

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

I haven't been able to get through to my MPs office, but I called the Immigration Appeal Department and they said you can appeal Inland Spousal Sponsorships applications, the only requirement is that the sponsor is a Canadian citizen or permanent residence. So I'm thinking I'm going to appeal...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

I think we'd apply as common-law again. I'm not getting married without my mum & siblings. Immigration can mess with me, but they can't mess with my wedding, ha. I'm pretty sure we filed as common-law, but I'll definitely double check, thank you for pointing that out!

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Yes, ordered the notes a few days after my refusal. We've since updated our tax information to have each other as common-law partners, so we could use that. & I'm on his health benefits at work now, too. We don't have any joint accounts or bills, other than our phone bill which I already sent...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

So my MP office isn't proving helpful at all. I sent in all the supporting documents I'd sent to IRCC, and spoke with the office today. She says she spoke to immigration & they advise I reapply. She just kept reading out their refusal letter of limited evidence, and telling me they advise I...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

I'm really not sure why you're so hellbent on berating me on something you've no clue about. I was pregnant, had my daughter, and went through my immediate postpartum period while still on IEC, and was under the care of a great midwife. I also have a temporary open work permit valid until May...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Ok so if we were married next week say, we don't have to prove our relationship for any length of time? I'm not quite following. I'm also extremely against getting married right now. It feels incredibly unfair when I've met the requirements of common law. I would have sought legal advice or...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Yip, all correct. They've refused me on the basis of not enough evidence. I'm honestly feeling like the agent has just decided he doesn't like our application and doesn't want to approve it, regardless of the blatant and obvious evidence showing I meet all requirements. Either that or someone is...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

There's no more to the story! We went on a Christmas vacation for 3 weeks to Scotland to see my family, we entered back in no problem. We've been together the whole time. Nothing changed. I went on maternity leave when my daughter was born, I was on maternity pay, as I was entitled. We haven't...

    Spousal Sponsorship REFUSAL - help!

Hi all, Our spousal sponsorship has been refused, on the grounds they don't believe I meet the common-law requirements. I don't understand why, or how, and wondered if anyone has any advice. I don't think there's an appeal option, pretty sure I read that when it's refused it is refused, end...

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Concerns/Questions

I'm actually touched you remembered my situation & reached out to check in. :) I'm currently in my bed, in Calgary, happy as a clam. I was pretty anxious before travelling, even spoke to an immigration lawyer my Dad (also British & already PR in Canada) worked with, and he soothed my worries...

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Concerns/Questions

Sorry to keep clogging up the feed with more questions; but the processing time for inland and outland both says 12months on the website, and how would I be allowed to stay within Canada while it processes? Would I have to hold a visitor visa? I was planning to go back to work when my work...

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Concerns/Questions

canuck_in_uk ; do you have any information on that? Would another application sent to the processing centre in Alberta for a restoration/extension as a visitor be processed faster & therefore cancel out the flawed application I sent?

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Concerns/Questions

I even questioned the woman, she put me on hold to check - and she said "no, you don't need to apply for restoration because you already sent the spousal sponsorship & OWP application." I said my status had been expired for 9 days when I applied, and she still said no it's fine. I was phoning...

    Inland Spousal Sponsorship Concerns/Questions

Ugh- why does the call centre even exists if it is literally no help whatsoever? I had to pay a work permit fee, alongside the open work permit holder fee? When I put in what we were applying for I wasn't given that in my list of fees? So what happens if they return my application, my status...
