My husband has a joint account with his aunt at Bank of America (he was not able to open his own bank account due to no SSN). I am the principal Canada PR applicant and he handles our finances.

Is it possible to request bank letter indicating my husband’s name only? Or both joint account holders are compulsory to be in the letter?

Thanks in advance for helping.

That is an issue with the Bank of America and whether they would provide that documentation. If they did then they are probably breaking banking rules and regulations but ask the bank.

Thank you guys for your response. His aunt has no single dollar in that account, it is all his and my money.

If let’s say bank letter indicates both of their names, my husband is my dependent, he is coming to Canada with me as well. Will the IRCC accept the bank letter with two of their on it?

It doesn't really matter whose money actually is, whose account is what matters and who has access to it.

And if you are a principal applicant you need to show your proof of funds mainly. You can rely on your husband's one if you have a joint account with you and your husband, not with his aunt definitely, so it's one more complication.
