I have someone who needs urgent clarification and help:- I am a French resident (Work permit holder) from France but currently (in Canada now on a visiting visa), but I want to apply for Asylum while I am in Canada. Is there anyone who has or knows someone that has been in a similar situation?
Kindly provide any guidance or suggestions on the best way to approach it.

You would follow the same process to apply as anyone else. You will of course need to provide evidence to support your refugee claim and it is also possible the minister may intervene in your case since you didn't apply for asylum while in France. This may place doubt on whether your claim is genuine. Good luck.

How are you going to explain that you were a French resident in France with a work permit , came to Canada on a visitor visa and on the whim decides to claim asylum here ?

Doesn’t make sense . And if it doesn’t make sense to a non immigration officer , how do you the the Canadian government will look at it ?
Not with open arms

Btw France is a Tier one country

It’s known as asylum shopping

Yes it is definitely possible. I know cases from france who got approved. In one case he is dual , his country of origin is in africa but was a french colony so the guy had tensions in france due to activism in his country of birth.
He fled and applied in canada now he is citizen. Don't listen to others .
Some think that because france is europe it is safe, also there are some people in france who are either non religious mainly apostats from islam and fear living in france due to
Massive muslim population especially from algeria

I would be extremely surprised if you could claim asylum based on denouncing the Muslim faith or being an atheist. Canada also has religious diversity. Although it may be possible is some very rare instances to get asylum as a French resident most cases have zero chance. It also appears that OP has lived in the UK and France for around a decade at least and attempted to immigrate via economic pathways first and when that failed is now considering asylum. They should consult a Canadian immigration lawyer about their case because claiming asylum has significant longterm consequences.

Well, according to the stats from IRCC, there hasn't been a claim accepted from a French resident in the past 10 years. The OP is in for a long wait.
