Hi all,

Is it typical for the sponsor to get an AOR type email before the principal applicant receive their AOR? If yes, how long after should PA expect an AOR?

Applied: January 28th
Application returned: February 13th
Resubmitted: February 14th
AOR to sponsor's email: March 12th

No, there is only one AOR that sponsoring person receives from IRCC. The first email that PA will receive from IRCC is for biometrics.

Oh, thank you so much! Didn't know that. The email that the sponsor received can be used to apply for a BOWP then?

You cannot apply for a BOWP as it is designated for other immigration programs. However, you can apply for a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) using AOR your sponsor has recived. Use this link to check your eligibility and other requirements.

Normal time to receive AOR is 1-3 months, however most of the applicants receives AOR within one month period, you can try to call IRCC they will update you regarding your application.

Hello All,

I have applied for Common Law PR under Canada CLass Category but my AOR says Family Class. I want to know does AOR says Family class only even if you apply under Canada Class Category? Because My PR portal Also says Application under Family class. But I am sure that I applied under Canada Class only. If someone who has applied under Common Law Canada Class can confirm that their AOR or any other Immigration Letter says Family class as well ?

Regards
