This is so not nice why would they be doing that and then neglect us it so sad and frustration honestly.
It isn’t about neglect it is about priority. Canada is trying to reduce number of PRs accepted every year and the priority has always been economic and family sponsorship (spouse and dependent children). There are still backlogs in most of the economic programs and a large volume of applicants sitting in a pool not being selected. There is a large volume of temporary residents or people who are out of status while Canada is actively trying to reduce the number. IRCC also let the H&C program become this large pathway that had become a relatively easy way to secure PR and where people could keep reapplying for since they were rarely removed after getting denied. This was never the intent of the program. The program was intended to address a small number of truly exceptional cases. Due to the reduced quota people need to be prepared that the program and getting PR through H&C is going to look very different. Immigration in Canada is going to look very different than it did even a year ago out of necessity.
@mr.niceGuy10 posted about one recently but there is only a very small fraction of H&C applicants on this forum.
I don’t think there is any second stage approval has been issued after Oct 10,
the last person to receive 2nd stage approval was Oct 10 address confirmation atleast on the forums and fb pages that I’m following
there are 2 people I have seen who recived address confirmation on Oct 10 and then they received portal emails and ecoprs in November and January,
after Oct 10 address confirms requests I have not seen any portal emails and I am at Oct 30th address confirmation
“Akitai” was the last person I remember received ecopr Jan first week and address confirmation was Oct 10, portal 1 Oct 29 I think,
to me it sounds like they are processing AIP as normal since I have seen approval in principal and refusal for first stage in Jan, Feb and mar,
I have also seen people getting address confirmations in Nov- Dec- Jan- Feb and mar
What I am understanding based on above details is that they stopped making final decisions after or around Oct 10 2024 and probably the officers who make final decisions got assigned to other programs to reduce backlog may be
I have received a PM from someone I forgot his name last week who contacted Niagara Falls after address confirmation and he recived response saying your application is in que for final decision I think on March 17

No I did not invoice MP yet, gems that u revived late Jan says everything passed except criminality,
The unfortunate reality for you is that H&C probably is the lowest priority for IRCC. It was always for exceptional cases, just seems that everyone applying feels they're exceptional these days.

I posted about it, see below.... funny thing, yesterday I went to Ontario Service to apply for the health card (with my AIP letter since the process is taking too long to finish) I met her there in line, she still surprised I didn't get anything yet. What to say...we have to wait and pray

I remember that I friend of mine who applied in May 2023, (I applied on June 2023) we start sharing the updates since we applied.
She got the AIP on June 2024 and no update until December 2, she received the address confirmation and email 1 a week after e email 2 on the second week...and the PR card on the first week of January 2025. Very fast pace once she got the address confirmation...I thought mine was on the way as well....poor me.
Kate,have you heard anything from IRCC regarding your H and C application? What does the GCMS notes say about the eligibility?my gcms notes say its not started yet even after almost 22 months,not sure what to do,feeling so lost and frustrated.
Mine says eligibility not started after 23 months. Nothing’s moving for me
Did you submit a webform/contact the call centre to inform them that the processing time has passed?
I had a work permit that expired in 2017 after that i couldn't renew due to family violence with my spouse. Have been undocumented since and recently filed for H&C.Am going to do bio metric in some few days .Am currently the sole care giver for my daughter and have lost my job.Am not on welfare and things are quite challenging. I want to know if there is anything I can do to use my expired sin in order to work or have to wait for the first stage approval in order to get work permit again so i can care for my daughter.
