Hi,
I am in a bit of a situation here with PR residency obligations. I have a question about moving out of Alberta after staying here for 1.5 years as a PR to join my spouse in another province.
Details:
Established residency in Alberta - November 2023
Became a PR through Alberta Tech Pathway PNP - June 2024
Planning to move out - Early 2026 - probably Jan/Feb 2026
I started working in Alberta from November 2023. By the time I move out, I would have stayed and contributed to the Alberta economy for more than 2 years. As a PR, I would have stayed and contributed for more than 1.5 years. We will get married by the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. My fiancé is trying to find a job in Alberta in his field with no luck. Currently he stays and works in another province and I would have to move out after the wedding. I want to do this legally by informing the Alberta govt so as to not face any issues in the future immigration applications.
Is there anyone that faced a similar situation and moved out successfully without any complications during PR renewal/Citizenship process?
Kindly help me figure this out. I reached out to immigration law firms just to get a response that they would not be able to answer specific questions of this nature.
I know few people who moved out for better job opportunities and were rejected during the citizenship process.
Please note, I would like to know if someone moved out to join their spouse and faced any residency issues during their renewal/citizenship application process, and what was the process followed during moving out - whom to inform etc.
TIA.
