Hi everyone.
I am just starting my application for the canadian citizenship and I have the following issue:
Before my PR, I had two work permits, but I don't remember when the application was sent for the last one.

The application was completely managed by my ex-employer, so I don't have a single clue. I only know it was done before my first WP expired.

How I should answer that question ? Should I pick a random date and try to explain later as an additional note ?

Thanks.

You dont need to inform them when the application was submitted, only the start and expiry date and you should have records of those dates. When you applied to 2 work permit it is understandood that you were under implied status. If youd like to add a letter of explanation to your application for your piece of mind, you can, but I wouldn't do it.

Hi @Alalac , for the question "Date you applied to extend your status" I tried the date I got the second WP. I got this warning:
You applied for an extension after your status expired

If the extension was approved

change your answer to "No" for the "Did you apply to extend your status?" question
click on “Save”
add the extended status as a new entry
I did what the message said, and now I two Temporary resident status boxes (for each WP), but I think this provide a different information. It could look like I was illegal during the two month gap between the expiration of the first one and receiving the second one.

Or in other words, what is the question Date you applied to extend your status use for ?

On the IRCC portal you can see when you applied.

I am also in the same situation,

Permanent resident since : 15-June-2021

Temporary Worker Status :

1st Work-permit :
Start Date : 02-Sept-2018
End Date : 02-Sept-2020

2nd Workpermit: (extension)
Start Date : 25-Nov-2020 (here is where the 3 months gap is, from the previous WP expiry date, i wa sin implied status but in canada only)
End Date : 02-Sept-2022

So for the question - During your 5-year eligibility period, did you have a valid temporary resident status before becoming a permanent resident?

I filled in yes and for the date you received the status i provided 2-Sept-2018 and Date your status expired, i provided 2-Sept-2020

I was asked Did you apply to extend your status? i answered yes.

It asked me the Date you applied to extend your status ? i wasn't sure about the date because my ex-employeer applied for it, but i know its somewhere in Aug mid, so i gave a random date ( and thinking of providing the explanation letter) , will this workout ?

Expiry date of my extended status i provided the one day before i got my PR (i.e. 14-June-2021) even though my WP expiry date is 02-Sept-2022 (as the system wasnt accepting), i hope this should be fine looking above comments.

Is this enough or should i separately add my extended workpermit details too ? As an additional ass temporary residence status ?

If you have time to order GCMS notes from IRCC, these will have the date of submission.

Can also try asking the HR of your ex-employer. They likely are still in contact with the immigration consultant who handled the submission, and that person likely still has a copy of the records and can fill in the blank.
