Canada PR Medicals high BP

Hi

My parents got picked for PR. In medicals, my dad's BP is 170/80. He never took any medication. 2 days back when checked, his BP was 140/80. Don't know how it shoot during medicals.

Please let me know will that affect his application??

May require additional testing. He should be addressing his high bp no matter what.

it's called white coat hypertension, and is very common. my partner also had very high bp (for a young <30 year old, which is more concerning ordinarily) during their medical examination, and nothing came off of it.

170/80 is way over white coat hypertension

Like way over

As mentioned they need to look into it

White coat hypertension is typically higher than normal not substantially above normal. Also many MDs do another BP measurement towards the end of the appointment if there are concerns about white coat hypertension. Also only systolic that is really very high.
