Can we apply TRV while there is pending SP application?

Hi guys, we are on a working permit expiring next month. I have a pending SP application submitted August 31, 2024 with SOWP application, still no update today.

Do we apply for TRV now so we have a status here in Canada while waiting for the Student permit? Do I apply using same GCKEY?
